It's a family festival to celebrate back to school and it's FREE. More than 3,000 backpacks filled with school supplies will be handed out to students. This is a first come, first served basis event and the student must be present.

If you want to get a good health screening done before the kiddo go back to school. Go out to St. Mark Baptist Church located on 12th Street and get those Blood Pressure and Cholesterol screenings. With all parents have to do during the school let's make sure we are all well enough to handle the busy day life of school.

Attention all parents the Rose City Community Church of Christ is doing it again. It's their annual Back 2 School Bash. Come out and get the kids haircut, school supplies and even hair styles. There will be plenty of health screenings and immunizations. The kids can enjoy the bounce houses, food and more. Also look for the Department of Health Services will be on hand to see if your family is eligible for Nutrition Assistance SNAP from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

"Rock the Block"  End of Summer Celebration

Rock the Block is being held as a way to cut down and bring awareness to the Midtown Community about violence. Brandon House wants to celebrate the talent that is living right here in the city. Building confidence in the teenagers through cultural arts. The event will include live entertainment, a Stop the Violence balloon release. School backpacks will be given away to the students from the Urban League of the State of Arkansas. Come out and support Brandon House a non-organization that is focused on providing after school and summer school programs for high risk youths with the goal to expose them to the fine arts.
